Which action cameras does GaugeReel support?

GaugeReel works with GoPro HERO 9 through 13 and HERO+ Gen 2, DJI Action 3, 4, 5 Pro and Osmo Action, plus Cycliq Fly12 Sport, Fly12 CE and Fly6, and Akeeyo AKY-710S, AKY-710Lite and AKY-730Pro. Upload your .MP4 or .MOV files and GaugeReel handles the rest: Cycliq's and Akeeyo's looped segment files are stitched and time-synced automatically, including Akeeyo's timestamp written at the end of each segment.

Does GaugeReel work with Cycliq Fly12 and Fly6 segment files?

Yes. Cycliq cameras record a ride as numbered segment files (CYQ_0101.MP4, CYQ_0102.MP4). Select Cycliq in the upload wizard, upload all the segments from your ride, and GaugeReel stitches them, trims the small overlaps between files, and aligns each segment to your Strava ride automatically, with no manual sync and no desktop editor.

What activity data can I overlay on my video?

Every full render shows heart-rate zones, cumulative distance, duration, GPS position on a route map and an elevation profile. Each sport adds its own cards: Ride shows speed in km/h, cadence, power and gradient; Paddle shows speed and stroke rate; Trail (hiking, running and walking) shows pace in min/km, cadence, gradient and elevation gain; Snow (skiing and snowboarding) shows speed, slope in degrees, vertical descended and altitude. On footage without embedded GPS, such as DJI, Cycliq and Akeeyo, which is aligned from the camera clock, the two cards most sensitive to alignment (power and gradient on Ride, gradient and elevation gain on Trail, slope and altitude on Snow) are held back unless you set the alignment yourself. Data is imported directly from your Strava account via a secure OAuth connection.

Do I need to manually sync my activity and footage?

No. GaugeReel uses the camera's UTC timestamp and GPS cross-correlation to automatically align your activity data with your video footage. There is no manual timestamp matching required.

What video resolution does GaugeReel output?

Free tier outputs 720p video with a GaugeReel watermark. Pro subscribers get 720p output, with 1080p on request. Pay-per-video users receive 720p output. Pro and pay-per-video videos carry no free-plan watermark, and every video, on every plan, carries a GaugeReel.app credit beside the Powered by Strava mark.

How does GaugeReel get my activity data?

GaugeReel connects to your Strava account using secure OAuth. You authorize read access to your own activities, and GaugeReel imports the telemetry streams (heart rate, speed, cadence, GPS, elevation) for the specific activity you select. No data is shared between users.

Do I need a power meter to add power to my video?

No. Without a power meter, GaugeReel shows an estimate computed from your speed, the gradient and your weight, clearly labeled "Power (est.)". With a power meter, it shows your real measured watts. The estimate is reliable on climbs and rougher on flats and in wind.

How does GaugeReel know which Strava activity matches my video?

GaugeReel reads the recording start time your camera's own clock wrote into the video file and automatically pre-selects the Strava activity whose time window contains it. GoPro footage that recorded GPS is then synced to the activity from that GPS track. Akeeyo files are stamped at the end of each segment, and GaugeReel restores the true start from the file length.

I recorded with two devices. Which one does GaugeReel use?

If both a watch and a bike computer recorded the ride, GaugeReel flags both matching activities and defaults to the richer one, preferring the activity with power data, then the longer recording. You can override the choice.

What telemetry does the overlay show?

Depending on your sport: GPS route map, speed in km/h or pace in min/km, heart rate zones, cadence or stroke rate, power (real or estimated, on Ride), gradient, slope in degrees, elevation gain, vertical descended, altitude, cumulative distance, duration and elevation. Each activity shows badges for the sensors it contains before you render; those badges describe the activity, not the overlay.

Can I rename my rendered video?

Yes. The job page has an editable title that becomes the download filename and appears on your dashboard.

How long does processing take?

A 20 minute clip usually finishes in about 40 minutes at 720p. Longer clips and 1080p take proportionally longer.
